Hi, we received this email from USPS. Does AC use this?
--- Your Action needed to continue accessing USPS Addressing information! USPS is launching an upgraded Addresses API on July 12. The current Addresses API is expected to be discontinued at that time. As a current Addresses API customer, you should begin preparing now. The new API requires users to sign a license agreement and pay a tier-based fee. To assist with this transition, please follow the Getting Started steps below, giving you time to onboard and test before July 12. ---

Hi Charles,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I had received the notices as well, but it was unclear whether this impacted our USPS integration. After some research, it does appear that you will need to follow the steps in the email they sent.
- Create Enterprise Payment Account and add your credit card or banking info. - Add the new Addresses API license. - Link the API credentials to the license agreement - Submit a request to begin testing the enhanced version of the API
I've been working on this as well, so we can get it tested.
The steps in the email are a little difficult to follow...
Currently, I am waiting for approval to begin testing. (Step 4 of the Getting Started section in the email)
My fingers are crossed that this is a procedural change, and we won't have to release new patches for the USPS plugin.
I will let you know as soon as I hear back from USPS.

Thanks Katie.
I started the process as well. I don't understand why we were given 2 weeks to do this? Oh well.
I'm also unclear exactly what the fees are. The USPS page is a bit ambiguous.

This is so typical of USPS.
There are 4 different portals! And I have no idea where to check on the status of the ticket I sent yesterday.
I seem to remember a minimum of $10 per month for Addressing, but it had some limits. Now, I can't find the information. Uggh.
Let's keep each other updated. Thanks!

Hi, I was wondering if you've heard anything yet about getting access to test? Also, I found the pricing. usps-pricing.png (16kb) downloaded 1 time(s).Edited by user Monday, July 6, 2026 11:13:45 AM(UTC)

I checked their portal and they signed their side. I then linked the API to the agreement.
Now, according to the email:
After completing the steps above, customers can begin testing the enhanced version of the API in TEM by emailing their customer's name, contact information, and API Client ID to EmailUs (https://emailus.usps.com/s/usps-APIs) select API Onboarding & IP Agreement.

Hi Charles,
I've heard nothing from USPS, and I stopped getting notices as well.
At this point, the cut-over is supposed to happen this Sunday, 7/12, at 10am CST.
If the new API is not compatible with the existing code, then you'll need to disable AVS from the configuration page until we can get patches out.

Good news!
I finally heard back from USPS support and was granted access to the new Enhanced Addresses API. Everything works perfect. The AVS and Shipping continue working just the same as before.
Also, they sent out a notice yesterday: POSTPONED – Addresses API 3.3.1 Access Postponed Until August 1, 2026
So, besides having to now pay for this service, all is good. |
Thanks for your support!
